Is it really under a minute?

Yes. Most dashboards are ready 15 to 30 seconds after the upload finishes - that includes the AI modelling your data and every join and measure being re-checked on all rows. A very wide workbook with dozens of linked tables can take up to a minute. You watch each step as it happens.

What files can I upload?

Excel workbooks (.xlsx, .xlsm and the older .xls), CSV and tab separated files, and JSON arrays. Each sheet or file becomes a table. Hidden sheets are skipped. Title rows above the header and totals rows at the bottom are detected and left out.

How does it link multiple tables?

For every pair of columns that could be a key, we measure on all rows how many values in one appear in a unique column of the other. The AI sees that evidence alongside the column meanings and proposes the joins; we then re-verify every join against the data, reverse ones pointing the wrong way, and remove any that would create a second path between tables.

Can I edit what the AI built?

Everything. Change chart types, measures and groupings, add and remove widgets and pages, rename titles, or ask the AI to rebuild with your instructions - "focus on regional margin", for example.

Which databases and services can I connect?

Twelve: SQL Server, Azure SQL Database (and Managed Instance), PostgreSQL (including Supabase, Neon and the cloud-hosted versions), MySQL, MariaDB, Oracle Database, Amazon Redshift, Amazon RDS and Aurora, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Databricks and Salesforce. Pick the tables, views, stored procedures (with their parameters) and table functions you want - or write your own SELECT (SOQL for Salesforce) - preview them, and your dashboard is built from them. Choose Build a dashboard, then Connect a database.

Is connecting my database safe?

Yes. Every connection only ever reads: each read runs in a read-only session that is rolled back when it ends, so even a stored procedure that tries to write changes nothing, and a query that could change data is refused before it is sent. Passwords, tokens and keys are encrypted with AES-256 the moment you save them and never shown again - not to your browser, not to the AI. Connections are encrypted in transit whenever your server supports it. For extra peace of mind, connect with a login that can only read the tables you want to use.

What do I need to connect?

For a database: its server address, the database name and a login. For the cloud services, what they issue for this - a Snowflake access token or key pair, a Google service account key for BigQuery, a Databricks access token, or a Salesforce connected app. The database has to accept connections from the internet; if its firewall only lets listed addresses in, add ours (support will give it to you). Test connects before anything is saved, and explains in plain words what to fix if it can't.

How does data refresh work?

Every connected dashboard shows how fresh its data is. Refresh it whenever you like from the dashboard's menu, or set it to refresh itself - every hour on Pro, as often as every 15 minutes on Business. Each refresh reads the same tables again and every chart, filter and insight updates. If a table or column the dashboard uses has gone at the source, the refresh is refused and the dashboard keeps its current data, with the reason shown.

What is Ask AI?

An AI analyst built into every dashboard. Open it and talk to your data in plain English - "what changed most last quarter?", "which region has the best margin?", "summarise this for the board". DashMage AI answers in seconds with the exact figures, computed on every row with your filters applied, and builds any chart you ask for so you can pin it to the dashboard.

What does the AI see when I chat with it?

Your question, the conversation so far, the dashboard's data model and the figures your dashboard has already computed on every row. It never receives your raw rows, and nothing you ask changes your data.

What does the AI actually see?

Your column names, statistics computed on every row (types, counts, ranges, most common values), up to 50 sample rows per table and the join evidence. It never sees your whole dataset - the dashboard itself is computed in your browser from the full data.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your data is stored on our servers in a location the web server cannot serve directly, and it is only ever sent to a viewer your sharing settings allow. Deleting a dashboard deletes its data. See the privacy policy.

Can I take my dashboard into Power BI?

Yes, on Pro and Business. Export any dashboard as a Power BI file (.pbix) and open it in Power BI Desktop: every table and row, the relationships, a DAX measure for every figure - written to give exactly the numbers your dashboard shows - and the same pages, charts, filters and colours. The data is inside the file; press Refresh once and it loads. A template (.pbit) that loads as it opens is there too.

Can I open my dashboard in Tableau?

Yes, on Pro and Business. Export any dashboard as a Tableau packaged workbook (.twbx) and double-click it: Tableau Desktop opens your dashboard with every chart filled. Every table and row travels inside the file, with the relationships, a calculated field for every measure - written to give exactly the numbers your dashboard shows - and one Tableau dashboard per page with the same charts, filters, brand and colours. Nothing to connect, nothing to refresh.

Can I publish it to Power BI Service or Tableau Cloud?

Yes. The exported file is an ordinary Power BI Desktop or Tableau Desktop file with the data inside it, so you publish it the way you publish anything you build there - Publish in Power BI Desktop, or Server > Publish Workbook in Tableau Desktop - to your own Power BI or Tableau account. The months a first dashboard usually takes to model, measure and lay out are already done.

Can I save a dashboard as a PDF or an image?

Yes, on every plan. Open the dashboard's menu and choose Print or save as PDF for a print-ready report, or Download as image (PNG) for a crisp picture of the whole page - ready for slides, email or chat. Any single chart can be downloaded as a PNG from its own menu.

Can I connect a database on the Free plan?

Yes - one connection, refreshed whenever you ask. Pro keeps 10 connections and refreshes them automatically as often as every hour; Business keeps 50, refreshed as often as every 15 minutes. Connections you add stay on your account, with their credentials encrypted.

Can I use the Pro themes on the Free plan?

You can preview and apply all thirty - and design your own. Foundry and Nightforge show everything on Free; on the other themes series labels (legend names, axis categories and tooltips) are blurred until you upgrade. Everything else works.

Does my plan renew automatically?

No. You pay for 30 days or 12 months of a plan through PayPal, and it simply runs out. Buying the same plan again adds to the end of what you have, so no days are lost.

Why DashMage exists

Most of the numbers that run a business live in spreadsheets. Turning them into a dashboard people will trust has meant one of two things: days of an analyst's time in a BI tool, or a chart wizard that sums the unit prices and calls it revenue.

DashMage does what a careful analyst does, in about a minute. It reads every row, measures every column, tests every possible join between your tables on the actual values, and only then asks the AI what it all means. Then it checks every word of the answer against the data before you see it.

What you get is a model of your data you can reason about - which table is the transactions, which are the lookups, how they link, what each measure means - and a dashboard designed on top of it that you can edit, question, share and present.

The name is the promise: you bring the raw data, and a little well-engineered magic turns it into a dashboard you would be proud to present - in under a minute, with nothing to learn.

Privacy policy

XXT Pty Ltd (ACN [ACN NOT SET]), trading as DashMage ("we"), operates DashMage.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

  • Your account: your name, email address, password (stored only as a salted PBKDF2 hash), and any company, job title, phone, address and tax number you choose to add for invoicing.
  • Your data: the files you upload and the dashboards built from them.
  • Payments: PayPal processes payments. We receive the order reference, the amount, and the payer's name and email; we never see or store card numbers.
  • Usage: basic records of actions in the product (for example that a dashboard was built or shared), your IP address and browser type, to operate, secure and improve the service.

Your uploaded data

Uploaded files are parsed on our servers and stored in a compressed form in a location the web server cannot serve directly. The original file is not kept. Your data is only ever sent to a browser that your sharing settings allow: you, the people you invite, anyone holding the password or link you created, or the public if you publish a dashboard.

Deleting a dashboard deletes its data when no other dashboard of yours uses it. Deleting your account deletes all of your dashboards and data.

Artificial intelligence

Every AI feature - designing a dashboard, writing insights, charting a question and the Ask AI chat - is provided by DashMage AI, which runs on a third-party AI service. To design a dashboard, we send it a description of your data: table and column names, statistics computed on your data (such as counts, ranges and the most common values), up to 50 sample rows per table, and any instructions you type. To write insights we send figures computed from your dashboard. When you use Ask AI we send your messages, the conversation so far, the dashboard's model and the figures your browser computed with the filters you have applied. The provider processes this only to return an answer, under the API terms that apply to our account. We do not send your full dataset.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers needed to run DashMage - hosting, email delivery, our AI service provider (for the AI features described above) and PayPal (for payments) - and only as far as each needs. We do not sell personal information or uploaded data, and we do not use your data to train AI models.

Cookies

We use a signed session cookie to keep you signed in and a cookie to remember that you unlocked a password-protected dashboard. If analytics are enabled on this site, Google Analytics sets its own cookies.

Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2. Sign-in cookies are signed so they cannot be forged, sharing links are long random tokens, and password attempts are rate limited.

Access, correction and complaints

You can see and correct your details on your profile page, and delete your account at any time. For anything else, or to make a complaint, write to support@DashMage.com. If you are not satisfied with our response you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

These terms are an agreement between you and XXT Pty Ltd (ACN [ACN NOT SET], ABN [ABN NOT SET]), trading as DashMage. By creating an account or using the service you accept them.

1. The service

DashMage turns data you upload into interactive dashboards, using automated analysis and artificial intelligence. Dashboards, measures, relationships and insights are generated automatically and may contain errors. You are responsible for checking any figure before relying on it for a decision, a report or advice to others.

2. Your account

Keep your password secure; you are responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to hold an account.

3. Your data

You keep all rights to the data you upload and the dashboards you create. You give us permission to store, process and display that data only as needed to provide the service to you and to the people you share it with. You must have the right to upload the data, and it must not contain information you are not permitted to share with us or with the AI service described in the privacy policy. Do not upload payment card numbers, government identifiers or health information.

4. Sharing

When you share a dashboard by link, password or publicly, anyone who can open it can see the data it shows and, if you allow it, download that data. You are responsible for choosing the right sharing setting.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use DashMage to publish unlawful, infringing, misleading or harmful material, to attempt to access data that is not yours, to overload or probe the service, or to resell it without our written agreement.

6. Plans and payment

Paid plans are purchased for a fixed period (30 days or 12 months) through PayPal and do not renew automatically. Prices include GST where it applies. Buying the same plan again extends your current period. When a period ends your account returns to the Free plan: nothing is deleted, but features and limits beyond the Free plan stop applying - for example, a public dashboard stops being listed.

7. Refunds

If the service does not work as described, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we will fix the problem or refund you. Nothing in these terms excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change features; if a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes during its period, you may ask for a pro-rata refund.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to re-supplying the service or refunding what you paid in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

10. Ending

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
